 This map has been designed for campers who enjoy free/independent camping. Free camping includes National and State Parks which may attract a fee.
This free camping map has been designed so that anyone is able to add/edit/delete places. Please ensure accuracy when completing the location.
It was launched in August 2008 with the initial help of many individuals mainly from the Caravaners Forum (note NEW forum!) as well as some other forums.
Remember that this site has been designed for you. Please feel free to contribute by either adding new sites or modifying those sites already there with more accurate or thorough information.
To view the map either click on the Australia picture to the right or "Map of Camping Sites" in the navigation bar.

Want more Independent camping spots? Then Camps Australia now has Camps 5 out, as of 1st March 2009, with over 3,500 sites listed around Australia. Purchase from this link will help support OzCamps. There are more than 400 new sites from the previous version.
I currently have Camps 4 with Snaps and am about to upgrade to the new Camps 5 with Snaps. I highly recommend these versions as most sites have included a photo which I find invaluable.
Included in this edition is a list of over 600 dump point locations with addresses and contact phone numbers, as well as symbols to show suitability for cassettes, holding tanks, use for non-guests (and whether a fee is applicable), together with access suitability for big rigs. GPS co-ordinates are included for most sites.
