A very large reserve (28ha) with 4 very dispersed fireplaces and tables. Pit toilet. BYO water. Shaded by a woodland of Yellow Gum (White Ironbark), Brown Stringybark and Long-leaved Box (Bundy) with a thin understory of wattles and some grass over gravel.
Gravel tracks lead further back into the reserve and eventually to the Nurcoung Flora Reserve - best in spring.
At the entrance to the Reserve is a memorial to Jane who kept her two brothers alive for 8 days while lost in the bush in the winter of 1864.

Clean pit toilets. Marked camping sites, limited numbers.
Limited shade. Camp near the lake edge.
Most spots would take 20 ft plus van, but not all.
Good dirt road into the park. Can be busy, so get there early. Most spots have a camp fire, but bring your own wood. Good spot for relaxing, painting, photography. There is a 2nd camping area further on from Lake Crosbie (not near the lake), Lake Crosbie is the best pick. Created by: Warby. Updated: Sat, 30 Oct 2010
